On July 26, 2022, we celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which has inspired the world to see disability through the lens of equity. Advocates for disability rights acknowledge that there has been much progress made, but agree there are some areas in which we fall short. From creating more consistency for academic accommodations to companies’ commitment to providing additional employment opportunities, what needs to be done in the next 32 years and beyond? 

In this month’s episode of Equal Time, the FiscalNote Executive Institute teamed up with award-winning journalist Mary C. Curtis to take a closer look on disability rights and how you can become a better advocate. The conversation featured Nicole Patton, Manager of State Government Relations at National Down Syndrome Society and Charlotte Woodward, Education Program Associate at the National Down Syndrome Society.
